Chimney Removal 1

We had previously carried out works for this client with a Bathroom Re-fit and also we created a small shower

room ensuite in one of the loft rooms.

The house situated on high ground at Hengistbury Head boasts magnificent 270 degree panoramic views.

There were two concerns for this chimney ....

  • The Chimney appeared to be leaning in towards the roof slightly and its integrity was in question.
  • The panoramic view from the loft room windows is spectacular and the chimney was spoiling it.

As the chimney was redundant, the decision was made to dismantle the protruding structure and to replace in

the gap a uPvc Window to complement the existing windows

Following the obligatory building notice consent to the local authorities the chimney was removed.

A Replacement window was installed with FENSA regulations by 'Wessex Windows ( Please See Useful Links )

As can be seen from the photographs this was very successful and now the view is no longer impaired

Chimney Removal 2

This client had approached us with plans for a Bathroom Re-fit and a Kitchen Re-fit. - Other projects had been carried out by us previously on their property.

Being very familiar with this type of house and its layout, we suggested that by removing the redundant chimney stack to ground level would provide more space both in the bathroom and kitchen areas for better layouts and it should be done prior to all the other improvements.

This proved very beneficial as during the execution of works the clients announced that they had Twins on the way, so they were glad to get as much space as they could for feeding and bathing.

Following the obligatory building notice consent to the local authorities the chimney was removed.

We then carried on with the internal removal on the chimney breasts etc. and completion of both the Bathroom and kitchen projects.
